CENTRAL ANATOLIAN EXPORTERS’ UNION (OAIB)

The driving force in the development of countries is export. The increase of export also brings out it the increase in wealth and production efficiency. Realizing this fact, Turkey has established the first exporters union in the year 1937.
The Exporters Unions were established with the purpose of contributing to the increase of export, regulating the professional activities and relations among the exporters and finding solutions to their problems and guiding them in the foreign markets. The number of exporters union has reached 59 today.
With the parallelism of the fast developing economy and in accordance with the policy to serve exporters in all circumstances and in all regions, exporters unions have included almost all export centers to its service area with the 13 General Secretariats and 23 different sectors.
Central Anatolian Exporters Union, which has almost 12.000 member companies today, is continuing its service in all parts of the country and has a total of four liaison offices in Ankara-Esenbo?a and Ankara-Behiçbey, Konya, Çorum and Sivas provinces.
General Secretariat of Central Anatolian Exporters Union has been established in Ankara in 1989 and at that time it had only Cement and Soil Products within its organization. As a result of the increasing export capacity of the Central Anatolian Region, in 1991 Cereals-Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products and Wood and Forestry Products Exporters Unions and in 1993 Ankara Ferrous and Non-ferrous Metals Exporters Union were founded. The Central Anatolian Machinery and Accessories Exporters’ Union was established on the 13th of June, 2002 and has been officially in act since the 15th of July 2002.
Amongst these Unions, the Cement and Soil Products Exporters Union and Machinery and Accessories Exporters Union are the only Exporters Unions in these sectors. In other words, all exporters in Turkey active in cement and soil products and machinery and accessories sectors are members of our Central Anatolian Exporters Union.
The first thing an exporter should do while realizing export is to apply to the exporters union whom he is a member and have his export registered and approved. With the help of the computer system which has its center at the Central Anatolian Exporters Union General Secretariat, all the exporters unions and the liaison offices are connected to each other and so the registration and approval activities of export are finalized within minutes. In this context, the economic administration can be informed of the export values of the country the very next day.
Central Anatolian Exporters Union encourages its exporter members in order to help them to be competitive in foreign markets and continues this service in certain activities abroad. In this respect, main importer companies from certain countries are invited and assisted to meet and contact Turkish exporters and during these visits the companies are informed of the competitive position of the Turkish industry. Turkish commercial delegations’ visits to purchasing countries are also organized and those exporters who can not visit these countries on their own account are supported by our Union.
