Each addition of the Malaysia Global Business Forum has had a social component now they are putting the CSR first and the business second.  This new type of approach will include elements of sustainability; Economics, Environment and Social and cover a full spectrum opportunities.  Starting with Aceh, Indonesia to coincide with the 10 year anniversary of the Tsunami of 2004 which devastated the area, MGBF is now calling for Expressions of Interest to participate in a “Different Kind of Delegation”

“We believe that corporate and civil society both have a role to play, through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or personal involvement in an issue or a particular area can bring about positive change which can ultimately benefit the bottom line” Stated Nordin Abdullah the Organising Chairman of the Malaysia Global Business Forum BUSINESS MATCHING Asia

“We have always been involved with delegations, those coming into Malaysia for our business matching programs and conferences or with the Malaysian companies going out to different parts of the world for trade and investment missions. We are now using that knowledge and adding an additional element.”

“Instead of just taking the CEO’s and the business development teams we are now inviting the CSR teams from those companies to join us.  There is a lot that can be done and there is nothing stopping companies from extending their social footprint to our neighbours in Aceh”

“CSR can be an interesting way to enter a market and it allows people there to get to know the caring side of the company, which can make all the difference in a new market, several Multinational companies have used this strategy to great effect, I can’t see why it will not work in this case” concluded Nordin

Malaysia Global Business Forum is inviting participation in a “Different Kind of Delegation” to Aceh this year to coincide with the 10 anniversary of the South Asian tsunami, which is also known as the Indonesian tsunami, the Christmas tsunami and the Boxing Day tsunami.
