As part of the South Australian Government’s South East Asia Engagement Strategy a delegation from the Food and Agriculture sector will be in Malaysia from the 27th to 29th of July, 2016. The delegation of over 15 leading corporations in the Food and Agriculture produce sector will be led by the Hon Leon Bignell MP, South Australia’s Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, Forests, Tourism, Recreation and Sport, and Racing.  The delegation will be in Malaysia to meet with industry leaders, potential partners and interested importers of the latest quality food products South Australia has to offer.

South Australian Food - ImagineThe program includes, dedicated one-to-one business matching meetings, networking lunches and dinners which will allow participants to meet and mingle with leaders in the industry in Malaysia.  Companies in Malaysia who are interested in purchasing or partnering with providers of various commodities, food and beverages and related services are invited to attend.

The objectives of this event is to:

  • To increase cooperation especially commercial relations between Malaysian and Australian companies in the Food and Agriculture sectors.
  • To increase supply chain efficiency in the food sector to improve food security and address inflationary pressures created by increased demand for food.
  • To strengthen the linkages between relevant government agencies to better facilitate the smooth and constant flow of goods and services.

The lion’s share of the company’s business is in juicing apples for the booming cider industry, but it also has its own orchards and packing sheds, which processes both apples and cherries. Joseph Ceravolo, the company’s productions manager, also returned to the business after a short period working elsewhere. Ms Ceravolo said some major technological advances have taken place since the siblings have been managing the company. “We designed a new spraying system for our enzymes that have increased our yields by 10 per cent, while decreasing our enzyme use by around 50 per cent,” she said.
