Today in parliament, the issues on creating a specific Ministry responsible mainly on environment and water was raised in Dewan Rakyat (House of Representative) sitting.
Kuala Krai MP Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman ask the Minister of Environment and Water on the rationale of having a special ministry to be responsible for environment and water. He also wants to know the ministry’s main focus and objectives.
Environment and Water Minister Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said ministry’s jurisdiction covered three main components, namely, environmental resources management, environmental services and ensuring sustainable environment in line with planetary health concepts.
