Today in parliament, the issues on if banks were able to extend the loan repayment moratorium amidst challenging economic outlook was raised.
Jempol MP Datuk Mohd Salim Sharif ask the Finance Ministry on individuals who are facing financial and debt repayment problems due to COVID-19 pandemic after moratorium ends in September 2020, in order to prevent an increase in the number of individuals who are declared with bankruptcy.
Banks have enough capital buffer to implement the loan moratorium extension as announced by the government, said Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri. Below is a video parliament session related to issues.
