Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of Administration and Students Affairs in Faculty of Defence Studies and Management, National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM).  She is attached in Department of Nationhood, Leadership and Civilisation.  She received her Certificate Education in English Language Studies, Year 1999 at Institut Perguruan Darulaman, Kedah, Malaysia. Her first degree in History and Anthropology & Sociology from Universiti Sains Malaysia in Year 2001. She then pursued her Master Degree in Malay Language Studies in Year 2007 in Universiti Putra Malaysia and she was the program’s best student. Her Ph.D. degree in Year 2010 research on Linguistics Communication Amongst Autistic Children Via Casual Talk Method.

She was awarded a Ph.D. degree in May 2010. Her expertise is related to Malay language in psycholinguistics , communications and applied linguistics. She is also expertise in media management, public relations, ethnics relations and corporate communication.

Jessica is also a part-time Newscaster and TV Host in Radio Television Malaysia (RTM). She also does emcees for government and private events. Jessica is appointed to the editorial board member for International Journals of Advanced Scientific Research and Management (IJASRM) and active in government research and writing journals and translated book “Sahara- Egypt I Conquered”.

She was a Media Advisor in National Professor Council from 2011 until 2014. Currently, she is also appointed by some company as a research and Policy Advisor, Project Advisor, MARCOM and Public Relations advisor and Media Advisor.  Key advisory posts include Advisory Board member of Tomorrow’s Leader’s Summit and the MGBF Advisory Group.

Jessica has her own newspaper column “Lekat di Hati” in Utusan Malaysia from 2012 until now. Her books title Kaedah Santai Tutur untuk Kanak-kanak Autisme (2012), Memori Seorang Jeneral (2016) dan Minda Jessica (2017). She was awarded as Chartered Member The Institute of Logistic and Transport Malaysia (CILTM).
