KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Dec. 20, 2018 — Asia Online Publishing Group is pleased to announce this year‘s winners of the www.datastorageasean.com online awards. More than fifty tech companies were nominated for the DSA Awards 2018. The awards recognise the best of the best of these companies in their respective fields and areas of expertise.
A total of ten awards were up for grabs, including two awards for outstanding technicians that are nominated by voters themselves. The eight categories included Best AI Vendor, Best Cloud Storage Vendor, Best Data Protection/ Disaster Recovery Vendor, Best Data Security Vendor, Best Analytics Vendor, Best Enterprise Storage Vendor and Best Data Driven Newcomer which is also a new category introduced this year. The two individual awards are for Best End User and Best Data Storage Vendor / Technician.
Among companies nominated are Dell EMC, Google Cloud, Commvault, Amazon Web Services, Veeam, Cisco and others.
Winners were chosen based on an online voting process over a month. The nomination forms were sent out to those involved in the industry for them to vote as well as nominate their outstanding technicians.
For the two individual categories, a final round of judging was conducted by AOPG journalists as well as Jun Fwu Chin, IDC Research Director for Asia Pacific. Jun said that the judging for the winner was a tough call for him as he felt both the top 2 finalists had the experience and committed to serving the best in the industry.
AOPG Director Melina Hwang said, “Awards voted by readers are usually the best indication that vendors are doing something right, and we believe our readers take note of these results. When your peers take the time to vote for a particular vendor it‘s possibly the best recommendation they can give. In that respect these awards are not just a nice piece of silverware for the awards cabinet, they are a vindication of the good work the winners have delivered through the course of the year.”
Now in its fourth year, the awards recognise the contributions of these tech companies and individuals in the everchanging IT industry. With the rapidly evolving and disruptive space of data, storage and digital transformation, AOPG hopes the winners and nominees will continue to inspire the world with their innovations and solutions.
