Saito University College awarded a total of MYR 2 million in scholarships to Sarawak residents today, during a special ceremony held in conjunction with the Saito Logistics Seminar – Sarawak State Level, in Bintulu. The event was officiated by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw FCILT, Chairperson of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) CILT Malaysia and Adjunct Professor at Saito University College. The awarding of these scholarships reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to human capital development, not only at the national level but also in support of the ASEAN 2025, Forging Ahead Together framework.

The scholarships were awarded under two key categories:

Working Adults Scholarship – Sarawak State Level – MYR 1 million

Saito Young Apprenticeship Scholarship – Sarawak State Level – MYR 1 million

The scholarships were officially presented by Ms. Noor Fathiah Othman CMILT, Deputy Dean of The Prime School of Integrated Logistics, Saito University College, to Ts. Dr. Hj. Abdul Kuddus Hj Ramlee FCILT, Chairman of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Malaysia, Sarawak Chapter. The event was also witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw FCILT. This scholarship initiative received strong support from strategic collaborators including the Tatau District Police Headquarters (IPD), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Public Works Department (JKR), and the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA), highlighting a collaborative effort between education and public sector partners.

According to Dr. Jessica, the scholarships are part of a continuous effort to expand access to quality, inclusive education:

“Quality education is a key driver of social and economic mobility. These scholarships offer opportunities to all – whether school leavers, industry professionals, or individuals seeking to rebuild their career paths,” she said during her keynote speech.
