Recent developments in LED lighting technology has permitted them to be used in a variety of different applications, including environmental and task lighting. Light-emitting diodes are now used in applications as diverse as aviation lighting, automotive headlamps, advertising, general lighting, traffic signals, and camera flashes.  As a component of “green refit” or as part of a energy efficient strategy LED lights have many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching.
